Head of Architect

Job Summary

·Accountable for the ArchitectureSolutions for a given Business Area – how all the components, subsystems,platforms, and integrations fit together to meet the business needs and how thesolution fits in with the greater enterprise context.

·Establishes and documents anarchitectural design that satisfies the solution’s architectural requirements.

·Submits ArchitecturalSpecifications to the Architecture Review Board and follows the submission tofinal approval, positively collaborating with the board on all remediationitems.

Job Description

·Acts as the project liaison to theArchitecture Review Board.

·Identifies, quantifies, andrecords Risks and Technical Debt items associated with the project. Ensuresthat the risks are mitigated appropriately and Technical Debt is addressed assoon as technically and organizationally feasible.

·Ensures that key project deliveryteam members understand the architecture so that the design and implementationwill be consistent with the architecture specification.

·Collaborates with other functionssuch as product, engineering, security, operations and compliance toorchestrate the creation of a complete solution to a business problem. He isinvolved in the definition of the solution from the later portion of theEnvisioning phase.

·Works on understanding thespecific business domain, designing and creating solutions, and makingtechnology decisions for systems of medium complexity.

·Provides guidance and mentorshipto Technical Architects.

EssentialKnowledge/Experience

•A positive, can-do attitude, whonaturally expresses a high degree of empathy to others.

•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Scienceor equivalent work experience.We aremore interested in passion for technology and what you are capable of, than weare academic qualification.

•10 or more years of relevant workexperience.

•Experience in building missioncritical applications from scratch, and decomposing monolithic applicationsinto smaller services.

•Good communication skills, abilitiesto discuss with technical and non-technical people, present ideas and motivatepeople.

•Experience with a broad mix oftechnologies, including a strong subset of:

oCore Java 8,9, Spring Boot, SpringCloud, NetflixOSS

oMySQL, PostgreSQL, EnterpriseDB, NoSQL(Cassandra, MongoDB, ELK)

oMessaging or streaming middleware suchas RabbitMQ or Kafka

oCloud platform such as AWS or GCP

oContinuous Integration and Delivery

oExperience with distributedarchitectures, SOA, microservices and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)

oExperience with Agile and Test DrivenDevelopment (TDD) methodologies

oFamiliarity with containers and theirtechnologies such as Docker

oFamiliarity with containerorchestration technologies such as Mesos and Kubernetes

oExperience with high availability,high-scale, and performance systems
